'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' producer Asit Kumarr Modi expressed happiness as actor Gurucharan Singh, who once essayed the role of Roshan Singh Sodi in his sitcom, returned home safely on May 17. Singh had disappeared on April 22, leaving his family and friends worried.

"I am very happy that he is back. I send him my best wishes. I am elated for his family, too. We were all very worried, but now we can sigh in relief since he is back," Asit told Times Now News.

However, the TV producer doesn't yet know why Singh chose to disappear and wishes to have a conversation with him to understand his mindset. "Ab unke mind mein kya hai woh samajh nahi sakte na (Can't understand what is going on in his mind). We don't know what he is feeling. I have been trying to call him, but his phone is unreachable. I want to talk to him. I wish he calls me back so I could know more," added Asit.

Upon returning home, Singh told the police officials during the interrogation that he had left his worldly life and was on a religious journey. He stopped at Gurudwaras in many cities like Amritsar and Ludhiana, but later realized that he should return home, police said.

While the probe was underway to find the actor, Delhi Police also interrogated the cast and crew of 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'. Reacting to the same, Asit told the entertainment portal, "The police came on our sets and interrogated everyone. I wasn't here then but everyone cooperated. The cops spoke to me later, and I told them I hadn't spoken to Gurucharan for the past few months."

On April 22, Gurucharan Singh was supposed to catch a flight to Mumbai from Delhi; however, he did not board the flight and went missing. His phone number was active until April 24, through which multiple transactions were made, as revealed by a police investigation.

His father, Hargit Singh, filed a missing complaint on April 26, and an FIR was lodged under Section 365 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)
