As the year comes to an end we have compiled a list of some of the best Hindi comedy movies that will not only keep you entertained but also crack you up with laughter. 1. MIMI – NETFLIX AND JIO CINEMA

Based on the 2011 Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy, Mimi is a unique tale of surrogacy and motherhood. Mimi is introduced as a surrogate, by Bhanu to an American couple in exchange for Rs 2 million. However, things take a problematic turn when the couple decides to not go ahead with the pregnancy and asks her to abort the child. She later decides to have the baby and introduces Bhanu as the father of the child to her parents. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the movie also features Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Evelyn Edwards, Deep Joshi, Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak.


2. SARDAR KA GRANDSON – NETFLIX

Adding next to the list of best comedy Hindi movies of 2021 is Arjun Kapoor, Neena Gupta and Rakul Preet Singh starter Sardar Ka Grandson. The plot revolves around the unconventional last wish of Kapoor’s grandmother. Kapoor plays a US-return grandson and now must go to great lengths to fulfill this last wish. The film also features Aditi Rao Hydari, John Abraham, Soni Razdan, Kanwaljit Singh, Kumud Mishra and Divya Seth in supporting roles and is directed by Kaashvie Nair.


3. KAAGAZ – ZEE5

Pankaj Tripathi’s Kaagaz is an exceptional watch. Based on the true story of Lal Bihari, the story is about a man who spends two decades of his life trying to reclaim his existence in government records after being falsely declared dead. This interesting tale deserves to be on everyone’s binge-list if you haven’t watched it yet, not least for the inimitable Tripathi’s turn as a leading man. Undoubtedly, Kaagaz is one of the best comedy Hindi movies of 2021, the biographical film is written and directed by Satish Kaushik.


4. RAMPRASAD KI TEHRVI – NETFLIX AND JIOCINEMA

This family drama, featuring a behemoth of a cast including Naseeruddin Shah, Vinay Pathak, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vikrant Massey, Supriya Pathak, among others is worth every second. After Ramprasad’s demise, his entire family comes under one roof for 13 days. During this time they dig into the family dynamics: their equations, differing opinions, motives, agendas, and issues with one another. It’s salty, but also sweet.


5. BHOOT POLICE – DISNEY+ HOTSTAR

Starring Saif Ali Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yami Gautam and Arjun Kapoor, Bhoot Police is a horror-comedy directed by Pawan Kripalani – who is a genius in this genre. The maker has given us precious gems like Ragini MMS and the Radhika Apte-starrer Phobia. The two brothers’ job is to hunt and eradicate ghosts for money. They are assigned a project in a remote village. Will they succeed in their job forms the premise of the story.


6. 14 PHERE – ZEE5

Vikrant Massey and Kriti Kharbanda-starrer 14 Phere is a funny love story that is being pegged as a social comedy that makes for an absolutely fun watch. Sanjay and Aditi, two individuals from different castes fall in love but plan to get married to each other. However, considering both their parents wouldn’t agree to the union, they plan to hatch a plan that includes creating a fake family. Will they succeed? That is something for you to watch and figure out.


7. HUM DO HAMARE DO – DISNEY+ HOTSTAR

How about a movie that takes you and your family on a laughter riot? Dhruv is madly in love with Aanya. However, Aanya intends to marry into a happy joint family. Dhruv hires two elders to act as his parents. Purushottam Mishra is roped in as the father and Dipti Kashyap (also Mishra’s one true love) as the mother. But the entire plan goes for a toss when Mishra decides to charm Kashyap. The film features Rajkummar Rao, Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aparshakti Khurana, Manu Rishi and Prachi Shah
